Hi all, what a great site and great journey this should be.

I grew up in Warrandyte and my folks are from NE Vic, but I never progressed any further than sporadic panning whilst camping. Never got more than a few specs.

I've always had an interest in geology, but never took it further. My son however is a geologist / paleontologist, but it's hard to get him motivated to do any fossicking weekends for gold, he's more interested in gems and fossils.

Anyhow, good to be here and I hope to chat further.
