Picked up my first detector the other day and have only used it in the paddock, bits of fencing wire and a couple of nuts. I am planning a lap of Australia starting in June and was wondering if there is any problems with checking ruins and around abandoned towns for relics.

Hi Stormy. I think you will have to check the heritage status of all the ruins and buildings on your travel. Check with the local councils as you go along.
