That design will provide all the clamping required, close the sluice & measure the gap between the floor & bar. Off to the scrappies to get a bit of aluminium about that thick minus a 1/3 the thickness of the blue mat. Attach it to the top of the mesh so it compresses the mat, go fill those viles.
