Aways bat first.
Just sloppy batting by the poms.
1st wicket was a half volley on leg stump FFS. Any batsman's dream and bread and butter.
Other 3 didn't have to be played and should have been left.
Idea is to see the new ball off.
This pitch will flatten out after lunch, always does on the first day.

Great work-I just had a quick nap outside and the innings is over-apparently a great catch off the last ball by Hazelworth.
I agree it was getting boring when I decided to have a nap after a hot bread kitchen pastie-I lerv pasties.
Sure beats my carrot and ricotta.

We still have to bat on that green top, and after today's rain, it will be greener. More rain tomorrow, and the pots will swing it to, see how Harris and Warner handle the same conditions tomorrow. Probably ly a bit better than the po.s, but don't start celebrating just yet!

Watching the 7 commentary and it appeared strange to me when they crossed to Sir Ian and the team, that they were using nose mikes but they are not actually at the game but watching the big screen in a studio in Sydney, I believe.
