Hey all what are your thoughts on getting a Coiltex 14x9 for my SDC 2300 as a good or bad thoughts what do you think I am a newby starting soon in NSW mabey the Central Tablelands Hill End , Ophie , Hargraves, etc, any info would be great.

A bigger coil for a newby? Save your money, mate - the standard SDC coil does a fine job and has proven itself time and again, ever since the SDC was first introduced.

After you've worn the standard coil out and paid for the detector with it, would be the time to be looking at an alternative, IMHO.

Yes it's a good way to revive an old worn out machine. You can buy all the replacement bits but once the knuckle on the back of the coil has worn out the Coiltek option is the easy fix.
