Closest prospecting near Narabeen

Hello! My dad and I are here from Rochester, NY. He brought some gold pans for us to use but I'm not finding anything close to where we are staying, near Narabeen. Does anyone know if a river or somewhere within an hour driving where we can gold prospect?

The closest gold areas for panning would all be at least 3hrs drive from Narrabeen.
