Out this morning and discovered a large piece of iron about 300mm deep. Gave up on the dig as I ran out of time and well and truly wedged in there with boulders. Absolutely no idea what is was but looks like it's probably better off buried. Hopefully someone can confirm that for me.
I did give a scratch and thought I might of had partial bits of copper on it.

says "cannon" to me, I have been known to be wrong..... but it looks like the whole thing tapers down as you look left(just saying)
Better off left there I guess..... but could look great in your garden 😂
 
Did you end up digging it out matros ?
Cool Find , that would have to be a really old cannon to end up in that state, and it would make history if it was. So I am thinking somewhere in the southern, states when the english were worried about the French. This would be exciting to follow , keep on going Matros.
