Beechworth - Chiltern Area

Just wondering if anyone has spent any time metal detecting around the Beechworth - Chiltern area?

And if so any tips.

We are starting our trip around Australia and will have a week in Victoria before taking the boat across to Tassie.

After returning from Tassie we would like to spend some time in the other goldfields around Victoria before moving on.

I have not been there, but have done a sh#&-load of research and asked questions on the forum for my trip in January. the word is it is exclusively a fine gold area and even some of the places way off in the bush on the Yack side are rugged, hard to get to and full of blackberries. If you want to pan and/or sluice then Eldorado is the place to go apparently.
