My parents have recently expressed interest in trying some 'coin shooting'. They have an OLD Whites Coinmaster 5000/D G.E.B, which I bet they have had for years, bought second hand at a market or garage sale and haven't used it.

Can you suggest some tips on where they should start? Would this be suitable on the beach? The beach is where my dad wants to try.

Thanks for that. Looks like they suggest a 10 cell pack nicad pack, or the 8 standard AA. 12v. Might get a 10 cell AA holder and get them on to nimh cells.

It will certainly find coins :) , but test prior to take with them as it may of been sold because of faults or has since developed faults. All electric appliance develop faults as they age due to dry soldier joints. Some of these older units also use batteries quick.
