Im pretty sure the date is 1826
Not sure what the parallel lines are from , i certainly havent scratched it at all , only used a toothbrush on it

Clear enough to see that was indeed 1826.
You just never know what your gonna find ...
A couple of hours not too far from home this morning
I didnt really hold to much hope for this spot , but was pleasantly surprised , especially once i got home and could actually see what i found
I picked up a few bits & bobs , a few BB's etc nothing much really.
After about 1-1/2 hours i pulled a silver
Three steps later i got 2 pennies in the same hole as i stood up i got another signal about 6 inches away ... Another penny
Then nothing for the next half hour so decided to head off... Thats when i got another hit.
Seems to be one of those larger early half pennies.... With a hole in the centre
When i got home and cleaned things up , this is what i had found
As soon as i had pushed the Lesche into the ground i knew i had scratched this one... buggar
The half penny turns out to be a token
So far unidentified ... I can tell its a standing figure (Brittania i suppose) and i can make out 'general' above the hole
The tap and its screw in valve were found about 3 meters apart
This is the guts of an old zippo type lighter

Great hunting once again Sandta , just be careful that the zippo is not full of asbestos (I don't know if they are or not ).
The1907 looks like a bit of an older scratch,.. has the dirt been turned over mechanically in the past year ?

Been getting some great finds lately Sandta, some great detecting going on here.

Finds are all that more satisfying when you can link them with local history & places. Even buttons I have found relate to some local traders here in Mount Gambier, small but cool finds.
