A Newbie- checking in to say Hi!

Hey everyone,
I'm a newbie to the group, and keen to get more informed on whats out there, in my back yard of Victoria!
I'm a Jeweller and freeform gemstone carver, teaching in Melbourne and the USA, and would dearly love to find my own stones to carve ;-)
Any info on good places in Victoria to hunt for gemstones would be much appreciated, as I have 'it all' to learn!

Hey there Woody It's a Labradorite. Comes up a treat when polished, and lovely to carve. The other piece here is a gorgeous bit of NZ Pounamu. I have some from British Columbia and also from Montana (! I had no idea they had Nephrite there!) which is a really interesting webbed cream and green colour. Can't wait to play with that too :-D
