Hi Dappa sorry about the late response. I have used many acids to try and clean quartz but have found the best results from multiple baths in Oxalic acid with picking in cervices with tooth picks and pins.

I use mine because I am only new to panning I am slow. With the sluice I cut down the panning to just a couple of times and I can still take my time going through it.

Yep the Gold rat sluice with a dream mat. I have the 10" and it is a breeze to set up and clean out. It is also a well made unit.

Hi Mick64 I am thinking Moonstones as well or crystal opal. A similar sized setting on sale at Lightning Ridge shop in doublets was still in the $600 dollar mark. A lot of opals are set in 925 silver. Great find all the same.
