    Panning today

Went out for a pan today - amazing amount of water has gone down the creek and moved a lot of rocks, sand, bank and my panning hole has gone. Wish I had a high banker - there is enough water still and plenty of places to dig too. Found some specs but hard work! Good luck to all. cheers David

Had a good day today - back and legs sore but was great to see a gold flake in the bottom of the pan that I could actually pick up with my finger. I am still struggling with the finer bits/specks and would love some help/tips. How do you try to ensure only gold goes in the snuffer - especially...

    Steiglitz Historical Gold Park

My first 2 gold panning expeditions were to Steiglitz. The fancy title promises much but it is mostly just an isolated area with no evidence of Parks Victoria infrastructure. Gold panning is limited to a 1km stretch of creek - downstream from the bridge. An unmarked electric fence across the...

    G'day

G'day from Ocean Grove - near Geelong Victoria. I'm semi-retired and have had a dormant gold bug activated by watching the various gold shows on Foxtel. if these US rednecks can do it then surely a half intelligent Aussie can have a go at it. I have found this site very helpful with lots of...
