    Palmer River.

There is definitely gold there but with the lack of tracks that cover the field there is a lot of walking involved. The easy gold is gone as the pros walked in as the gates opened. Many of which already knew the field from past experience but can now walk around freely. It is a beautiful...

    Minelab SDC2300 information and questions

Just out of interest how small a piece of gold would a pin pointer pick up. I was looking at buying one last time i was at clermont but some of the gold i was finding barely budged the scales off 0.00

    Minelab SDC2300 information and questions

Sometimes it does pay to make your hole alot wider than your coil. When in highly mineralised ground you can lose a faint signal as you lower your coil into the hole and the machine struggles to ground balance and cancel out ground noise the deeper you go.

permit to detect on gold coast beach

Mate read the post again. I dont think you understand. Never did i say i dont fill my holes. I simply stated some facts. So ill clarify just for you, i fill my holes and take the rubbish. But the frustration comes from moments like last time i went to the beach. A snotty nosed lady walked up to...

permit to detect on gold coast beach

I understand the refill your holes when detecting part. But really? Its a beach my kids dig holes bigger than the average detectorist and build mountains a meter high. Yet no one complains when they are left. Then next kid comes along and just keeps making them bigger. Some people just have...

    Clermont Area With SDC.

Thanx Eluvial, I will have a look through them and try to concentrate on just one of them while im there. This will be my first time out that way so i guess it will be more about learning the ground type and hopefully find some shallow ground. I dont mind digging trash to find nuggets though. :Y:

    Clermont Area With SDC.

Possibly heading to Clermont for a couple of days at the end of this week. Ive heard bathampton maybe the go for some shallow ground to suit the sdc. Would this be a good place to spend a couple of days? Or would a different gpa be a better option?

Minelab Equinox 800 tips and questions

Hi mate the nox is suited to tailing piles and very shallow ground. Around my neck of the woods the nuggets are small .1 - .4 g and ill pick them up at about 50 mm. On a 1 g you may get 100 mm but you may walk over it. The hardest thing is picking the nuggets from hot rocks and there are lots of...

Gympie and surrounds information + questions

Im up in Gladstone and kayak fish our salt water estuaries for bara and jacks. Although there are plenty of rumours ive never seen a croc here. Undoubtedly they are here as the fitsroy river is only 100 k north and loaded with crocs. But Gympie is a bit of a stretch and its fresh water which...

    Lebanon blast

Which is what happened in the states in the 1940's. A fire broke out on the ship and after failed attempts to put it out they decided to shut the hatches and steam it. Not realising, or forgetting that it creates its own oxygen. Affectively creating a pressure cooker the size of a ship.

Quick trip out in CQ today

Went out today for a quick swing with a local fella. Came up with some goods and learnt a fair bit about my local area in the process.

    Lebanon blast

Ill go a little more low key on the qualifications list. But when you and your boys are regularly standing on up to 5000 tons of this stuff in a ship while unloading it, you try to know a little bit about something. Just because i have a motorbike liscence doesnt mean i can ride one. Ty

    Lebanon blast

Ammonium nitrate doesnt actually need any oil or diesel to explode a fire alone is enough to make this happen. Ammonium nitrate will reach an explosive threshhold and self ignite at a certain temperature.
