    QED Info Thread.

Hi guys I'm debating wether to purchase a new GPX4500 or the QED PI2. I'd like to hear from anyone that have owned or still owns both the 4500 and QED.. I understand conditions, coil choice and tuning is all important, putting those variables aside which in your personal opinion do you...

Minelab Monster 1000 Or an Xtra - Advice

Hey Fingers Have owned a 705 and found it was a good machine for relics and coins, but I wouldn't recommend it for gold hunting in Australia. Currently own a Gold Monster and think it's a great machine for chasing the very small gold that most other detectors miss. It handles hot ground quite...

    Today I BOUGHT

Hey thats quite perceptive, they could very well be for a SSG! The components are part of prototype battery management system I'm tinkering with to protect a couple of LifePo4 cells I'm using to power my GP Extreme. Hmmm I suspect your also interested in overunity devices :)

    GP Extreme / GP3000 Modifications

Hey LR, thanks for the tip about the newer coils, was thinking of getting a 6 inch Coiltek or commander mono, but Ill heed your advice there and make sure they are backwards compatible with the extreme first. Not surprised Minelab are rejecting modified detectors, I guess they are tired of...

    GP Extreme / GP3000 Modifications

Hi DD, The battery pack Im building weighs in at just 860 grams so that will lighten the load up a lot ..so thats the number one problem sorted. Regarding the silent search mod, never know, if over time I become used to the threshold tone I may not even bother with the mod. At this stage the...

    GP Extreme / GP3000 Modifications

Just wondering if anyone has had any interesting mods performed to their GP series detector and how effective were they? I'm currently working on a few mods for a late serial number GP Extreme which I recently purchased. First mod involves ditching the HEAVY old school SLA battery for a...

    Angus Mackirk Grubstake sluice.

I was like a kid in a candy store at Detect-a-den, there was so much to choose from, talk about sensory overload! The credit card was running on empty near the end, so had to exercise some self control and buy just one Mc Kirk sluice. Damm it, I wanted them all 8.( Ended up with the Mc Kirk...

    Turbopan information and questions

No worries, I should have added the Super Sluice is better than the Turbopan for gems. There are some good videos on how to use the Turbopan here: http://turbopan.com/videos.html#.UZSo0ysY2K0

    Turbopan information and questions

I have a Turbopan and a Garrett Super sluice and tend to favour the Turbopan. The Turbopan is very easy to use and does a great job. There is no trick to using it, the just load it up and swirl the gravel in one direction and then the other whilst the pan is in the water (with the water level...

    Angus Mackirk Grubstake sluice.

I haven't used one Nugget but I'm driving down to detect-a-den on Saturday to buy one, can post a review after I use it on Sunday. From what I have seen on youtube its ideal for small creeks, which is the application I have for mine.

xterra 705 gold pack to find coins

Hey Jono The 10.5" inch DD 18.75 is a great coil for most applications and its water resistant. The 18.75khz 10x5 elliptical would offer some advantages over the 10.5 but its not water resistant. If you wanted to focus on coins then the 7.5 khz 10.5" DD may offer some handy advantages due to...

    Best classifier material for highbanker

Yep I agree, based on the stated flow rates it would be next to useless. But I seriously doubt its 1,100 LPM, thats way too low for this sort of pump. The true flow rate is probably 11,000 LPM and not 1,100.. so I think their website designer made a typo. Based on the performance it gave at...
