Pending Garrett Axiom release in Aust.

Hmmm, so it's a game of the Axiom has to be better than anything else, or not worth a fair minded look? Last minute revisions? Like every model made by other detector brands that I have worked with? But you don't get told about? What about revisions after the fact? Do they count? So if it's all...

    Makro Racer information and questions

I admit to being a fair bit optimistic about what DEUS V4 has to offer. Hopefully we do not have to wait 6 months to find out.

    Makro Racer information and questions

I'm sorry, I thought you were implying the Gold Racer did not and was clarifying that. My apologies.

    Makro Racer information and questions

The Gold Racer employs two tone ferrous/non-ferrous discrimination with adjustable tone break point.

    Waterproof coil depth spp

I started on enclosing mine in a Pelican case but never finished it. The ATX came along and removed the need. I gave up on White's ever doing a waterproof TDI. They came oh so very close it seems and then it just never happened. Unfortunate.

Nokta Fors Gold information and questions

Of course I tried it nesral, that is why I answered the question. I guess I should have spelled that out?

Nokta Fors Gold information and questions

The Racer and FORS models sense whether the correct coil is being used and display an error message if not. In other words, you can only use the coils made specifically for the machine. Nokta is considering a 5 x 10 coil for the FORS models.

    Minelab GPZ7000 information and questions

Name a new detector model made by anyone that did not get some early buyers turn around and sell in short order. It happens with every new model and every brand. It should not be a surprise, it should be expected. The GPZ like every detector made will not suit all people for all purposes in all...

Fisher F75 + F75 SE information and questions

Hello Ronnie, T2 is an excellent machine, very popular early in the African gold rush. As deep in all metal as any VLF made. As you mention the extra features on the F75 really add nothing for prospecting. I hope you find a monster nugget with it!

    Makro?

From what I hear it is a good pinpointer. Looks like Makro is going to make waves in the U.S. with their new consumer style detectors, the Makro racer and Makro Gold Racer. I am in line to get a Gold Racer as soon as they can be had.

Tesoro Tejon - back to the dark side!

Thanks for the reply duck. Not surprising - the Tejon is a finely tuned sports car. Not really made for off road (outback) use but shines on the freeways.

Tesoro Tejon - back to the dark side!

Hello Goldpick, I always liked the design of the Tejon. The underarm battery pack provides needed balance that makes the unit less strain to use than lighter detectors that lack such balance, like your G2 or Ace for example. The Tejon is a very hot unit so I am wondering how it is working out...

    Makro?

Most of the Makro range is designed for searching for large deep items, such as might be used by treasure or cache hunters of for more industrial type applications, like mine detection. The main handheld consumer type detector that most here would be interested in would be the CF77. It has a...

Anybody having any luck with the FORS Gold?

Hello Nenad, I am pretty sure my SDC will signal on a nearly 2 oz specimen! 1. Compared to some other top end units I am impressed by the ability of the FORS Gold to correctly identify non-ferrous targets that other detectors incorrectly identify as ferrous 2. The unit does appear to favor...

Anybody having any luck with the FORS Gold?

I have been doing very well with my FORS Gold in the United States, having found one of my best specimens ever, a 1.83 oz beauty. That easily paid for the detector! The thing is, I am in the United States and you should not take my results in our admittedly milder ground as meaning anything...

Minelab X-terra 705 General Tips, Advice, Questions

Thanks Nenad. As you know, in normal disc modes the entire signal is filtered and then a target id offered, either via a visual indication, and audio tone, or both. Depth is almost always seriously affected. One only need switch between Coin Mode and Prospect Mode to observe this. In Prospect...

Minelab X-terra 705 General Tips, Advice, Questions

Hello Nenad, How does the Iron Mask in the X-Terra 705 Prospect Mode differ from rejecting iron in a discriminate mode? Is ferrous discriminate being run in parallel with all metal - a sort of "mixed mode"? Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on the subject.

FORS Gold Review by Steve Herschbach - USA

Hello Jonathan! Chris and I are camping in the Nevada outback right now. Desert country but it is winter, and that means snow yesterday morning! Warmer but raining this morning, letting up now, so off to hunt gold soon. No luck yesterday so maybe today. I know you can do an honest review and...

FORS Gold Review by Steve Herschbach - USA

Hello, Just to clarify, my review was done for people in the US who are interested in the product. I have far too much respect for Australian conditions than to suggest it is anything more than that. However, I do believe that the Nokta units will complete strongly with the best VLF detectors...
