Victorian Government Response to Victorian Environmental Assessment Councils (VEAC) Investigation into additional prospecting areas in parks

I second that dwt.. Goldtarget, it is frustrating as single acts of selfish behaviour can ultimately ruin it for a lot of us "right doers". All we can do is keep singing the same song, until it sinks in..!

This would be an ideal topic to bring to your next local PMAV Meeting and subsequently have it put to the President, Rita Bentley.

Victorian Government Response to Victorian Environmental Assessment Councils (VEAC) Investigation into additional prospecting areas in parks

Everything mentioned is great! My suspicion though is that it is not prospectors dumping TV's, Tyres, Couchs etc. - we may have got a little off topic.. If we want to help clean up this type of dumping, it is still important that "prospectors" get the recognition for cleaning this rubbish up...

Victorian Government Response to Victorian Environmental Assessment Councils (VEAC) Investigation into additional prospecting areas in parks

Cheers Golddigg, appreciate your comments and support! I agree that is exactly what we need to do. nice one Ron, we certainly don't want to be placed in the same light as the old timers and the trail of destruction they left behind. (even though this is now classified as "Historic Diggings")...

Victorian Government Response to Victorian Environmental Assessment Councils (VEAC) Investigation into additional prospecting areas in parks

I am confident that most of us do the right thing.... however all I can say after seeing this article and those photo's is, that is exactly why I have opened threads like this. We need to educate any fellow prospectors not following the current rules and guidelines set out for us, associations...

I have spent some time up in Daylesford and had good results in various sections of Sailors Creek if that helps, lack of water is an issue at the moment though.. Are you into detecting or panning?

    Disappering Gold

one thought for you mrlimb... try going the opposite direction to where you moved to, see if the deposit continued on that way! (now it sounds like a game of battleships - you may be onto someones destroyer!)

Victorian Government Response to Victorian Environmental Assessment Councils (VEAC) Investigation into additional prospecting areas in parks

hi lee, I truly hope not! It does read that this may be the case, or at the very least be subject to review. I will try and email some contacts and see whether this can be clarified. This is not a doom and gloom thread designed to dishearten people, just ensure people are aware we are under the...

Victorian Government Response to Victorian Environmental Assessment Councils (VEAC) Investigation into additional prospecting areas in parks

Firstly I want to make reference to a PMAV Publication, The Eureke Echo, where I first read the news and give thanks to this organisation for it's continued fight to keep us out there prospecting! The Eureka Echo Volume 33, No. 1 - Summer 2014 EXTRACT OF Front Page Article: "Coalition...

    Disappering Gold

This has a lot to do with where you are extracting your material from to pan off each time.. There is a chance you were right in the sweet spot of a gold rich channel, where the gold was being dumped due to a change in water pressure. Since going back you may have moved your target area...

Using a dredge in Australia for recreational prospecting is illegal - information and questions

If anyone witnesses this type of activity, PLEASE DO NOT think you are not within your own rights to say something. If saying something does not have any type of impact or result then REPORT IT. We cannot allow illegal activities to put at risk the pass time that a large number of us spend our...

    Blackwood & greendale victoria

Blackwood came and went very quickly in the 1850's rush as far as I have read, not sure about Greendale have not read anything much about it. I know "the usual suspect" areas are where most concentrate their energy these days, proven grounds looking for what the old timers didn't find :) The...

Victorian Government Response to Victorian Environmental Assessment Councils (VEAC) Investigation into additional prospecting areas in parks

Hey Guys, Just thought I would open an area to discuss the recent VEAC report and looming change in prospecting regulations and ultimately state legislation in what we can and cannot do and with what equipment...

Sapphires, Rubies, Zircons - field trip wanted Daylesford area

hey crazy, yeah I'll let you know how it all works out - seems like a decent unit to learn on when not wanting to sink too many $ into it.. GT, the suggestion about going for a drive to sus places out is the best idea! Even if people give you an idea where to go, you just never know when the...

Sapphires, Rubies, Zircons - field trip wanted Daylesford area

Hey guys, about time I checked in again.... I have recently purchased my first detector, 705 to start off with for now and learn the ropes. I was up in Daylesford a few weekends ago, detecting, found plenty of rubbish including a nice old Bulldozer Bucket Tooth. That thing made the 705 scream...
