Canberra Really dose not have any thing worth spending time on that I have found. If you research the surrounding areas and read through the Forum you will find areas that might be within your area you want to travel.

Like Roy said the 705 is great, one thing I wish I did was not play around with the settings to much to start with. Start with the Basic set up to you learn and understand the machine and you will be getting lots of great finds in no time.

I'm with you on that Megsy, This is one reason I don't put photo's up of what I find. I am lucky with the area's I work at not to many people go their so it is clean all the time. Detecting is another matter I find so many holes not covered in.

On my Last hunt I had a unstable read, I dug it anyway and It turned out to be a small modern coin spill 2x $2 and1 $1. You never know till you dig

I started with the GO FIND 40 myself, I reviewed all my options when I wanted to upgrade, The Nox from all I have read is a better machine but like you I was limited on cash, for the $800 the 705 is a great machine and you will enjoy the change from the GO FIND 40

I would personally not clean it, it looks great the way it is.

The more you use any detector the better you will understand the sounds to try and pick the better targets. I still have a long way to go.

Apparently the politicians are of some value but I can't seem to detect them on my 705...Must have the discrimination settings wrong
