    A find at the hardware

    Have been searching the net for fossicking picks and the price range is from $70-$120. Not paying that for a pick, so I decided to hunt around for a leaf spring to cut to shape and weld a handle on. Went to the hardware to get a flange for the handle and found this little cracker for $13.

    About 12 months ago I had a bloke with a dozer push a dam into my bottom paddock and where this thing come from had about 2feet of earth taken of the top.     G'day all

    Picked up my first detector the other day and have only used it in the paddock, bits of fencing wire and a couple of nuts. I am planning a lap of Australia starting in June and was wondering if there is any problems with checking ruins and around abandoned towns for relics. Cheers Stotmy
