    My DIY Highbanker

Went out for approx 3 hours today, a little bit of exploring but only about an hour of highbanking, the creek I go to has hardly any water in it, and where there is water its been gone over too much by others. Where there normally is water there are now a lot of exposed riffles that looked good...

    Banker Legs

The auto lock pins are called locking bolts, or indexing plungers, I sell them from time to time at work, they are available in black oxide (will rust) or stainless, $15 -$25 each :Y:

    My DIY Highbanker

Here's a short video of my highbanker doing its thing. The idea behind the classifier at the top was to hold muddy clay until it breaks down and releases the gold, didn't really work as well as I hoped it would, I don't use it anymore. You can get good results in this area if you have the...

    My DIY Highbanker

Not quite backpackable, cricketbagable. lol. If it wasn't for the 30kg battery to run the bilge you could take it anywhere, bags not very heavy at all. The battery is a nightmare to lug through the bush though. I'm heading out today, hopefully I can find some water in the creek beds I'm heading...

Using a dredge in Australia for recreational prospecting is illegal - information and questions

Is a DIY modified PVC yabbie pump legal? its classed as a hand tool yeah? I made one with a nozzle to get into crevices, works really well, would be disappointing if its illegal.

Streams/Creeks/Rivers Legal or not any one know? (VICTORIA)

List of exempted rivers and streams, they could have just said you are not allowed to pan in any river or tributary in Victoria, all of the good gold bearing creeks (that I know of) etc are on the list! :(

    My DIY Highbanker

I need to add a couple of flanges to the top to help when shoveling alluvium into it, stop it from falling out the side. I also need to look at a different classifying grate (circled in red) on the hopper as too much gets caught up & in turn builds up eventually blocking it, any suggestions will...

    My DIY Highbanker

I got the square aluminium profile & corners through bunnings. The tube clamps (for the legs) I sourced through my previous job. But you can now get them off ebay if you search for HD Plastic tube clamp. Just make sure you can find the right diameter tube to suit before purchase, sometimes they...

    My DIY Highbanker

My current bildge is a 2000GPH 10amp, used to have a 500GPH but its too small. The jump pack only lasted about 2 hours. I have since purchased a 12v 100amp/hr battery that should go the distance, only problem is it's 30kg.

    My DIY Highbanker

I made the drop riffles out of aluminium flashing and formed it over the riffles on my river Sluice (pictured) and then filled the back with car bog and stuck it into the channel with silicone.
