Hi my names moses

Hello... I'm new to this site & need advice. My young boys 10 & 11yo have an interest like me in geology, rocks & gems . And would like to start fossicking. Though l have no idea where to start? I went on ebay to find them a detector.... Though have no idea what to purchase for them & myself...
