❓Your Mineral Identification Questions answered here

Looks like a vuggy volcanic. Recommend getting a sample of the greenish/yellow crystal and determine its specific gravity & follow goldilocks guidelines. My guess - Mix of colours suggest lead mineralisation.

Stannifer and Tingha Plateau Conservation Area Now Closed

I heard today that Torrington will also be closed to fossicking. NPWS have not put up signs yet. On good advice the closures are due to NPWS classification change of Tingha & Torrington Cons Areas. I have contacted our local member to high light what's happening.

Stannifer and Tingha Plateau Conservation Area Now Closed

I hope they consider opening up this area to fossicking again. Most of this area has been disturbed by tin mining so I am not sure of the conservation value. Our town needs visitors to help its economy. State parks also need visitors to justify employment. There must be a middle ground. I will...

    Rock wash?

Yes I agree with Heatho I live in Inverell and you will find sapphire in their wash. I buy it on occasion if I have visitors & they want the experience of finding sapphires I just set up a washing station at home with sieves and tables. Plus BBQ and beverages. MB
