They use to let you dip your fingers in the stuff in high-school science class back in the old days.
Seriously 0000.1 of a gram of mercury vapor ain't going to hurt you.
I'd still avoid breathing it in when burning it off though.
:P
Yep exactly. You can give your wiper motor variable speed :) only downside like I said it will draw alot of power and nowhere near the torque of a geared motor. How you going to have it set up direct drive, belt & pulleys or chain and sprocket...??
Mate, you can put a variable speed switch on ANY dc motor...
You could grab one off ebay or just goto jaycar. That way you would have fully adjustable speed instead of just fast and slow. Also wiper motors draw abit of power. I'd recommend taking a look at some geared 12v motors on ebay. I...
Ah why did they have to go an make it TOS...LAME
Should have continued Nextgen or voyager or even enterprise.
Anything but TOS, heck I woulda even preferred they did deep space nine...
That's a nice bit of gear elbowgreese I like that idea... Like you said best of both worlds :)
And no marked but ur half right. The banjo is a type of 2 tier highbanker. These analogy's may help. All banjos are tiered highbankers but not all tiered highbankers are banjos. All thumbs are fingers...

Phill, would love to hear how it goes when your finished. That removable catch tray idea is what attracted me to the "banjo" design. I'd imagine it would reduce your cons greatly. :) Also I found the spray bar design intresting.
Ahhh..thanks for the advise everyone...:) The "banjo" I'm referring to is a homemade highbanker design I've seen plans for on another forum. I think the guy who made the plans calls it a banjo. Anyway so I've decided I'm going to build a walbanker as it is well an truly proven to be a good unit...
Thanx for the advise braddo. I can't seem to find anything on YouTube or anything
Showing the performance of the banjo. But plenty of good info regarding the walbanker, great YouTube vids :) and heaps people saying they are the way to go. But I'd still love to hear from someone who has at least...

Ok thanks for the heads up redmanti :) so I'd be more likely to run into other prospectors at oallen? Ill be sure to ask if they are forum members before taking any advise. Don't want to get a bum steer. Lol
