Yeah I think it's just a matter of having a play around with it. I set up a test bed in the backyard with different objects and coins for him to practice with.

They all look good but I wonder if I could just make one :/

Thanks everyone for the help. He's starting to get the hang of it. Finding lots of bottle tops and pulltabs but also some coins which seems to keep him interest. For the time being anyway lol.

So we bought our son a Garrett Ace 250 for Christmas and would love some tips on how to use it. We had a quick play around with it yesterday but its a different to operate than anything I have ever used so it might take a little getting used to.

I would prefer something in the 4-6kgs range, I have to travel a long way carrying a lot of gear and I want to pack a light as possible. When you say it can be turned into a river sluice, what do you mean by that?

The Ace 250 sounds like the go then. What size coil do you use on it?

At least you don't have to spend hours scrubbing them clean.

Do you know the dimensions of the EZ-SLUICE?

I'm after a Sluice Box that's lightweight and rugged, any ideas?
