Hi all,

Have been reading this forum on and off for a while but not yet posted, but find limited time to get about etc, always interested in new places to enjoy fossicking or learn when I can.

In southern highlands, NSW and had planned a bit of time over summer but crazy WX and fires have been a limitation unfortunately, keen to get out when I can.

Be interested in any pointers for locations or areas to try for detecting (or alluvial panning) have recently upgraded to GM1000 but only run up a few hours on it so far,

Also any pointers what to look for re gem stones, come across a few interesting stones whilst looking around, particularly Kangarroo Valley,

Cheers and thanks in advance for any feedback

Thanks for the greetings,

Was keen to get out with the kids in holidays but stuck to a few local.places until fires sorted, which kept them happy just to get out and about, no colours though but they are still happy, will watch this hopeful rain forecast with interest, hopefully put the fires to ease , and head out a bit further when time allows.

Anyone have any thoughts on alluvial gold deposits behavior after the drought and fires settle and rains come? Particularly Shoalhaven or Oberon/Abercrombie areas?
