Choosing Between Target Areas.

I'm about to embark on my first short trip detecting, and i have 3 areas picked but unsure how to pick which to go for. All areas are in the kalgoorlie region on greenstone bedrock.

1st area has had drilling activity, sits over a archean basalt band with laterite either side and heavy looking iron mineralization. I'm thinking this could have a lot of rubbish or be thrashed?

2nd is close to old workings, laterite but less mineralization. I can see a lot of tracks through it.

3rd is a bit of a shot in the dark, laterite and lots of it, looks like fault lines follow old workings and head into the area as well as creeks.

I have time to prospect one of them, your wisdom is welcomed on how you would choose

just go to the first 1. . give it a good going over, if you don't find gold, then move on. next trip hit site #2, etc
assuming your access permits are good to go.

2nd choice for me.....laterites near old workings are alway a good target....you won't be the first there but you have do your apprenticeship somewhere...make sure you make a trip out of it.

big learning curve for a newbie it would seem

yep...huge....thats wht makes prospecting such a grat activity....you never ever ever know it all.
