I received notification today that Horst Ricker has passed. Horst is very well known in the Sapphire and Gem industry as an incredibly talented Engineer, based in Rubyvale, he has both designed, rebuilt, serviced and modified many Faceting machines and Gem equipment, and people around Australia have benefited from his skills.

I have worked with Horst, helping him service machines while on location at AFG events and will miss his friendship and knowledgeable discussions.

Though he officially retired a couple of years ago, he was still a significant part of the Gem industry and will be sorely missed in the Gemfields.

RIP my friend 💐
