Very nice stuff Schubo, we werent as fortunate as you but managed to find some small flakes nothing to write home about but me and the missus were extremely happy for our first attempt. Will post a photo of what we got once i get time to clean it up. We were lucky as a local come over and give us some insight on were we should be looking and what to look for he was fossicking just down from us. Anyways looking forward to the next time. :D

Finally managed to get some time tonight to clean up our gold we got from last weekends trip to Nundle, its not too much but we were very happy with it as it was a first try at gold panning. Checked on the digital scale and came up to be 1 gram of gold. :D

Good effort mate for panning only. The best thing is now you know where you can get your fix!

Also Nundle would be our closest place to get onto reliable gold.

Cheers

Fossickers Tourist Park Up in nundle is a nice place to stay if looking for accommodation :)

The Hills of Gold motel just across the road from the Pub is also a great choice for accommodation. I stayed there with the wife a couple of years back and I think it was only like $100-120 a night. I imagine the Caravan Park would be somewhat cheaper though.

True headbut, I still need to pay for the trip from 2 years ago so we better make it 6 grams

Thanks Retirement Stone, we had a blast and look forward to another trip to try our luck. As for the accomodation we were lucky we stopped at the birches b&b and it was 120 a night as was the last room available which was a good score room was all it needed to be nothing big but comfortable. Next time we may invest in a tent and do it the old fashioned way and camp at swamp creek there.

Good effort renji232

Found a sweet little spot :)

I have a very nice and very large tent, only used once, that I would be most pleased to give you. It has been sitting in the garage doing nothing
and i have a spare and just bought a new pop up camper. If you are interested please let me know, I am near Bonnells Bay (Morriset). We are also off to Nundle next week sometime so would be pleased to hear how you go. Cheers Bernadette

Very nice Schubo, good to see there is good size stuff there, we were only scratching the surface and never dug down to bedrock. Next time with a bit of luck we will get lucky. :D

Hi Bernsey...might see you up there...
We are just down the road from you at Silverwater

Hey guys, thinking of heading up to Nundle soon for the first time but first I got a few questions that people may be able to answer for me which would be greatly appreciated.

1) This image I have added has a road that I highlighted that Google Earth calls Nundle Road. What I want to know is what is the condition of this Road. If I access it from Topdale road will I manage to make it to Nundle. I do have a 4wd but it would most likely be loaded with gear.

2) I do like hiking around so I will likely do a bit in the State Forest. Is there any creeks in there that I can Prospect (don't need locations if you dont want to give them out just a yes or no :) ), I see a lot of people talk about Peel River and Detecting in the State Forest but nothing about working these creeks and streams which I'd enjoy doing.

3) What exactly does Nundle have there? Does it have a shopping center for food and a petrol station to fill up? (maybe seem like a silly questions but I'd like to be sure).

4) What are Chaffey Dam and Sheba Dam like in the wet? Will it be damp, boggy? I'll most likely hit one of the two up so just curious.

Any help that may result in me having a more enjoyable time will be fantastic

Thanks guys :) when I work out a date I might throw something up asking who will be around there.
