I know that if I were down there I would be planning to have a look around the riverside oval area all the way over to the waters edge both sides of old port rd and anywhere I could get in around the old port reach area(especially for florins), but I can't see myself ever being able to do it,...so if you do get out there let us know how you go with it(after you've finished it completely). You've probably been over it all already anyway. here are a few links to what I was looking at a little bit.

Thanks for that Silver, looks to be a good book to do some research on. I know there are some other guys who regularly detectect the parklands, and backed with a lot of research on specific events and their locations (one guy is a minelab tester). :)

WOW..... Thats an awesome variety of history at one site
I cant really imagine that this info has slipped by until now though.... But as you have all said ... No place is ever cleaned out completly . Sounds like a great spot for GP to take his Explorer ;)( he's probably already there)

Had a quick detect with the Ace tonight to see what the warmer weather turned up on the beach, nothing spectacular, but at least the coins are starting to crop up in the populated areas - things can only get better from here on in. ;)

Every coin found totals up to a nice amount, so don't skip all those 5, 10, 20 & 50c pieces. Have started up a new container, as this one is pretty much chokkas. This is a good way to fund a coil or detector upgrade courtesy of the public. ;)
