Newbies to Australian Prospecting

Hi! Edward and Tania Kowalczyk, Rosebud Victoria, we are totally new to gold/gem prospecting. we don't know anyone or where to connect to clubs for our area-Mornington Peninsula, Prospecting Australia was recommended to us. we are in our early to mid 50's and have just started to research prospecting as a weekend getaway hobby. any helpful guidance or info would be appreciated as we start our new adventure meeting new people as group members while learning more about gold and gem prospecting, we love the outdoors, travelling, camping and exploring different towns and it's history. we have bought a bounty hunter tracker iv metal detector, some starter prospecting tools and we both have a current Miner's Right Permit valid til 2028.we are looking forward to learning and prospecting as a hobby during this next part of our life's adventures . any support as we start our adventure in prospecting would be most appreciated. thanks E & T Kowalczyk

Welcome to PA Edward & Tania.
Lovely area you're from there. Not really close to the better gold bearing areas, but you like travelling, so that's lucky!
The Earth Resources website will give you a good start on info, and Parks Victoria will give you maps on areas where you can prospect.
Otherwise, read what you can on the forum - it's quite informative.
Start with the 'Guide for Newbies', that will explain how it works.
