Coil and program used? When it gets nasty Deus will prefer to run like a coin machine, think program 9 and discriminate HARD like to +10 or so. Ground balance is very important so watch that and adjust as needed. If it changes a lot use the tracking balance that will help some. But of all the settings this is the most important to be right, 2 notches out can mean the difference between chaos and calm. In Program 10 use threshold to break up the hot rock and bad signals, the good targets will shine through. Reactivity can also play a part, in that nasty ground go to 3 or 4, this will sharpen up the good signals and flatten the bad ones. Last if it is just very very nasty, then drop your frequency a bit and wind back the sensitivity a tad as well. It can be tamed in those type of area's it's just a matter of getting used to what to change when. Deus is never a super quiet machine, it will read very subtle changes in the ground but a quick 90 degree turn and if it don't repeat walk off. My Best tip is to run program 9 and 10 together, Use 9 s the checker program but wind up the discrim unless you prefer to hear the iron tones, My preference. But if 10 is getting outta control switch to 9 for a more pleasant experience. It will equal any of the VLF's out there, next step up would be to go sdc or even 4500. I run a 5000 (twice) but have been cleaning the spots with the Deus first then going in low and slow with the 5000. Done it twice so far and the only thing holding me back from finding gold is ME getting used to this whole gold finding scene, way different to my normal coin shooting. Cheers Big Fella, any drama or for a chat give me a buzz anytime mate. Clegy
