I couldn't agree more Filthy, problem is, and i know this from personal experience after being involved with many 'battles' to retain our freedoms (access to the bush and waterways etc) is that on one side you have the far left 'green' loonies who continually throw up ridiculous ambit claims when it comes to locking up the bush, and then you get the "far right' red necks on the other side and once again, the poor old silent (rational) majority get left in the wake of both. It seems it's always been and always will be that the squeaky wheel (usually the well populated and resourced radical element greens) gets the grease unless of course the person with the grease gun has 'political debts' they have to repay to get re-elected in which case it's usually their mates that get what they want. I classify myself as a 'green' as would most people that 'use' and respect the bush for most outdoor activities such as 4WDriving, hunting, hiking, bike riding, fishing, boating and prospecting etc. And most of us will happily accept a considered and rational approach when it comes to protecting and even 'locking off' some areas that legitimately need protecting. But the term 'green' has been bushwacked by the loonies and the rest of us get lumped in with the neanderthals that F UP the bush wherever they go. The above is once again to be read as a scrounger rant rather than a political statement. One day the silent majority may get off their lazy collective 'it's not my fight' bums and be counted and then we might have somebody who will listen to us. IMO. Sorry mods :)
