Its beyond the joke, those who think they know whats going on in the bush & know how to fix it have know idea. They are just creating breeding grounds for feral animals & creating bigger fire hazards, like mentioned above, the amount of wild dogs (we used to hunt them up near Corryong & Tallandoon) getting around & all the blackberries & other weeds & feral animals is getting rediculous. They stop hunting in parks etc & it just becomes a breeding ground for ferals & weeds & they think baiting & trapping is going to stop the dogs & foxes, its just another costly exercise thats not helping, just look at the government funded culling in some area's of Australia, I read about one pig cull from choppers that ended up costing around $1000 per pig that was killed. Good hunters like alot of those in good recognized clubs (AHN & SSAA) would do this for free but no, we weren't aloud. (my old man & myself were members of the AHN)(Australian Hunting Net). Look at when they stopped the cattle from being in the high country, just to protect a couple of plants, well them plants were still there after well over 75 years of cattle grazing so how can that be an excuse to remove the cattle, now them parts of the bush are more overgrown & bigger fire risks that they ever were. Man, I can't stand greeny do gooders & government idiots that think they are helping when all they are doing is messing things up even more.
