Hi I have been mucking around with a highbanker sluice box for the last twelve months and although I have found plenty of tin in my creek I have found no gold but I know there is none there. I have been changing things around trying to get it working at its bests before I head out to a proper gold field. I started off trying to make a dredge and can still use it as a dredge. Then I had it on a frame with legs and then decided to make it on a trailer to tow behind the my Grizzly quad and I can put my tubs and tools on it as well I still have a couple of more off shoots for the screens to divert the tailings away and need to fit another spray bar on the second screen to mover the gravel down it quicker. I wast toying with the Idea of adding another 1m long sluice tray 90 degrees to the bottom of the main sluice tray with just rubber riffle matting in it to catch the real fine stuff. The top hopper with the spray bars has 25mm scree Under the 10mm middle screen there is fine rippled carpet. In the main sluice there is proper miners moss with a nugget trap at the start. I have plenty of water to add more bars as the pump does more than enough at High Idle. Does any one else on here dabble in this kind of thing that can give me a few pointers? I tried to post pictures but it wont let me for 10 posts or something
