[QUOTE="Marauder, post: 281479, member: 6200"] Hi Guys, Last week I took the family up to Beechworth/Eldorado to have a fossick in the area, but the huge amount of water made accessing the river a bit difficult. I would also like to point out that being a complete novice, we basically just went to each spot we could find along the river and had a bit of a speck. Anyway the kids loved it, I enjoyed it(though got sunburned) and we came away with a variety of small smokey quartz pieces, some nice little black tourmaline crystals and a few pieces of tiger eye. Also got a purple quartz pebble that I'm calling amethyst, but its not clear. I think the best bit we got was a piece of clear crystal which i originally thought to be Topaz. Probably not, but it is very hard, and i was unable to scratch it with another quartz crystal, so who knows. Probably Citrine though. Anyway, was a good trip, and would love to go back again when its a little less wet and the access to the gravels in main part of the river.
