I'm heading out to Apollo bay next week and was just wondering if anyone could help with some tips for a first timer to the area and craft planning on going to wreck beach at moonlight heads and the Otways any advice would be brilliant thanks

Know of any good spots in the Otways by any chance?
Within the Otway Ranges themselves is probably no good for anything (I am there every few months just walking into waterfalls etc). Mainly just monotonous Jurassic sandstone. Around the coast on the beaches is OK (eg Moonlight Head) because agates and sharks teeth have weathered out of younger volcanic rocks that only overlie the Jurassic rocks east and west of the ranges. But Moonlight Head is quite a good locality for them. The tektites are there because a shower of them swept across Australia to the Otways area from Cambodia after a meteorite strike. They extend west to at least Warnambool.
