Gday all i was detecting a creek a few days ago and i thought id check for any bench deposits. So in a suspect area i walked some distance up the hillside, had a good look around, and zero. No workings visible. But then looking closely around my feet i noticed some unusually mineralized soil, and some bedrock close to the surface, so i thought "What the hell, ill have a quick detect. 5 mins can't hurt". 5 mins later i had 2 rusty old square nails in hand, the type i find around OT's workings.....Where were they from? so i headed a little further up the hillside and BAM. There they were. Hidden over a crest, two tennis courts in area of workings-long hydraulic pit and shafts. This was the first 2 hrs till I ran outa light....
