    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

Hi fellow members. Recently I bought a highbanker, the one with the dream mat Apparently it works well because I could not find any traces of gold in the tailings. I did finally find some gold after panning the concentrate, but often wonder if the gold washes out as I'm panning the stuff. The...

    Tuena NSW using SDC 2300

On the other hand that black stuff just might be tar. Try burning it with a propane torch. I just bought bought an SDC myself. Got sick and tired from NOT finding nuggets most of the time. I was impressed by my mate who's got one, he just kept on pulling sub grammers from a spot I showed him...

Anyone planning 1 last legal highbanking trip ?

What's the hell is happening? I thought our forefathers fought and died for the privilege to fossick for gold at Eureka. Back then the greedy bastards claimed the gold belonged to the queen back in England. I thought we were "free" people. Here in Victoria they want to join all the forest areas...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Any nugget big enough to be picked up by hand is a good size. My biggest nugget from Maryborough was 10 gram. Still amazed at that one. Recently I found a spot near Creswick that consistently produces very tiny nuggets, however my GPX5000 is not good at finding the real tiny ones. I showed a...

A mullock heap of your very own!

Any body wanting to buy a real goldmine in WA instead of a heap of mullocky? you get a hole instead. And it's got real gold in it. I reckon my mate will sell it for $200,000. Reduced for quick sale. If some one can sell an unsightly heap of worthless dirt, maybe I can try selling a mine on this...

Advice on seperating very fine gold in dry dirt.

Hi occasional panner, south of Creswick, forest area, dirt rd. Drive along just about any dirt track and you'll find a solid quartz reef running thru it. Look at both sides of the track and if you don't see any diggings you'll have a virgin reef all to yourself. Some of these reefs have gold in...

Advice on seperating very fine gold in dry dirt.

hi dam it. I'll be back alright.... I'm going there on Thursday or Friday if the rain clears up. I'm going to take the new evolution coil off and putting on the 8" minelab mono. I'll also play around with the settings. I know the gold is there. The bloke who went with me gave me some of the...

Advice on seperating very fine gold in dry dirt.

Thanks "Dam it".. The soil is a bit wet after the rain. Do you think I should take some of the soil home and using my dam water and my mate's sluicer I could make it work? I panned some of the dirt I bought back and it had NO colour. Damn it. Do you think the rangers would miss a few tons of...

Advice on seperating very fine gold in dry dirt.

Hi gang, I've got 2nd hand GPX5000. I've recently found a patch of soil with a quartz reef running through it. My detector did not find anything and I was going to give up and walk away from it. But as karma has it, I showed a new bloke from our club to have a swing around with his SDC (I...

    Gully' reports from Bendigo

I've been inside the mine with a group of seniors, it's like an ants nest. The tunnels go for miles in all directions and there are levels and levels of them.I've also seen the super hard rock that they mine. There is more to finding gold than just swinging a dector' So much work for such little...

    B&Z booster information

Thank you all for your comments. I'm pleased that a forum such as this exists where members can have their questions answered. I do have a single external speaker, I wasn't aware that that I already had an internal amplifier that was sufficient for my needs. It seems that I did not need the...

    B&Z booster information

Thank you both Gravity and Northeast, I'll be buggered. I'll take it all back and apologies to B&Z booster. I didn't realise that turning the volume distorted the signal. I have an external speaker on my GPX5000 anyhow. I'll be going to the GT this weekend and try out the unit with the booster...

    B&Z booster information

Wow!!! thanks Mark, all sounds a bit complicated to me. I'm a civil engineer not an electronics expert. The signals we are talking about are the final ones emerging from the inbuilt computer inside the GPX500 unit. I totally agree with you, looks like I bought an expensive amplifier for $155...

Advice needed on percentage question .

Gee, makes you wonder why the old timers didn't think of that? Just think, you throw in the dirt, rotate it by hand a few times, and you have 90% of the gold just waiting to be scooped out.Wow!! And all this without water? ;)

    B&Z booster information

Hi fellas, I just bought a signal booster for my GPX500. I was led to believe that it boosts the signal from the nuggets that may well be missed. In other words it enhances the signal from the gold without amplifying other noises albeit from mineralization, radio interference or other EMI. Well...

do you think this ground would be worth a look??

Hi, I've got a GPX5000 and a a small banjo sluice, if you like I'll save you the cost of hiring a detector which I believe costs around $150/day to hire. Send me an e-mail if interested, however we split 50:50 on any finds.
