    NEW MINE STARTING

I eventually sold it after a lot of political problems. That is the problem with doing business in Zimbabwe. Beautiful country but under dictatorship. I now live in Ireland with my fam.

    NEW MINE STARTING

Its timbered up now, the shaft. We did it just before the rains started, and they have started. Access to the mine when it rains is limited. But we are still working. Even though our shaft is now 53m deep vertically we are working on the tunnel at 35m. The grades have been around 25g per 7...

    NEW MINE STARTING

Its a stamp mill with a separator and james table before separator. We then use mercury. The miller then does whatever with the sands. Yah am putting plans in motion to set up a mill to also custom mill. There is free money there. Setting up is a process.

    NEW MINE STARTING

I agree with you. Own mill makes sands when funds are available. At the mill we crush then use a james table then gravity separator. The miller then uses cynide in tanks for their gold recoveries before using carbon in pulp. Copperplates not used coz the ore has antimony. So i am told

    NEW MINE STARTING

We will take ore out for milling very soon, my projection is by end of this week barring mishaps. I say so because we are two blasts away from finishing up the sump basin for the water at 50m. The basin will be 3m or so deep then we will built a platform above it. From the platform our drive...

    NEW MINE STARTING

At 35m we drove into the reef, sampled it and thought it was not rich enough and continued digging downwards. We had driven horizontally 3m. We then drove a further meter or so to build a sump basin as when we got into the reef water started flowing out. So the guys are digging vertically going...

    NEW MINE STARTING

I am attaching photos of the progress so far. We had intended to drive into the reef at 35m and then tunnel along it but the grades there were too low and we decided to continue sinking the shaft down. Water is coming out of the reef so we dug a sump at 35 m in the drive so we pump water from it...

    NEW MINE STARTING

Let me try to clear the confusing part. Yes people are mining 200m away but their method of mining is such that I would not want to use their shafts. They were sinking them following the reef in such a way that the shafts are twisting and turning in all directions, vertically and horizontally...

    NEW MINE STARTING

Shaft is 13.7m now And i visited a nearby mining site left by the 'Germans' way back. I dont if they were trully Germans but the locals say so. They are pumping out water so they can mine

    NEW MINE STARTING

Meanwhile on the other shaft the guys are now 10.5 meters deep. Progress is slow but I am hoping the pace will quicken this week as I now have 10 guys digging. The rock is changing from weathered granitoid to more competent granite and soon we should be in bluestone which is quite hard.

    NEW MINE STARTING

I am thinking of sinking 2 shafts now, maybe 30 to 35m deep then digging a tunnel to connect them. That way will I not intercept the reef? How feasible is that? The cost of digging the 2 shafts is very low here.

So these are the assay results for the samples i have taken to the lab thus far. Point zero on the ip line is 5m onto the trench line

    NEW MINE STARTING

haha don't worry advice is always good but it does not mean you follow all you are advised. I have people on the ground who also know what they are doing. I marry what they will be doing with stuff I hear and see what goes. But the good thing is there is progress and guys here have been very...

    NEW MINE STARTING

I couldn't tell if the material was transported or was in situ. Some guys on the ground were insisting it was in situ. I think at this stage I will sink a shaft. drilling like I have said before I will not because the cost of sinking a shaft for me is less than that of drilling. I hear your...

    NEW MINE STARTING

I plan to timber shortly One thing i have stressed from the beginning is i shall not drill, i wont spend money on it, its too expensive. Its not easy to buy off the guys. Their claim had a dispute that was resolved by subdividing it and yet its registered under 1 guy. So its a bit a legal...
