T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Thank you. Yes, yes. I will buy the new version. I just hope, that it will be able do detects as tiny objects as a needle.

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

You really helped me a lot. Thanks to your post, and explanation, I started reading (that is why I disappeared for a while) about how metal detectors really work, what different options mean, and how to use them. About the importance of frequency, ground balancing, threshold, and so on. I think...

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

That is so confusing. I won't link here another MD forum, but let me just quote a part of a bigger comment of an experienced MD user, nickname Monte: "Some models use a numeric reference, either printed on the decal around the Disc. control knob, or needle meter display with a '0' indicator on...

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

So guys, I just learned, that G2 does not have true all metal mode (to my shock). I am actually confused, because, it is not a easy information to find (whether a device has or does not have this mode). I don't know, what is better - to buy a device with lower frequency (like 13 kHz) but true...

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Thank you! That is a very good result with a very small needle. I was about to buy a pinpointer before (consider Garrett), but than everything (articles, reviews, youtube tests) showed, that it is just not sensitive enough. I will read more about this PistolProbe, because from what I see now...

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Hi there. Did you perhaps manage to do any test? Sorry for bothering, but I am just about to make a final decision, and any new information is very valuable.

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

So I will be waiting impatiently to see, how you machines performed. Handheld scanners are made to work from a very small distance. I have read a few articles with some experiments on those. They performed well, but still were not able to detect as small as tiny needles or staples and such.

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Thank you! So there is no actual difference between Gold Racer and Red Racer. I guess Red Racer would be more versatile. 10cm and more is great. Did you perhaps manage to notice, whether the angle towards the coil matter? And btw. you use very small needles :-). I thought, I used the smallest.

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Thank you once again. So now finally all-metal mode showed its power. I am so relieved, that you got so good results with such a small needle. I must admit, after your test with the big needle, I was worried, there would be now way those units would do good on a small one.

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

You did me a very big favor with those tests, and your precision. I don't even know, what to say. It is awesome! They gave me a lot of information: 1. First, all metal mode was not better than fast disc mode (Fors Gold). And that is so strange to me, since so many people made it very clear...

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

I thought of Makro Racer, when I saw the tests on on youtube, and it turned out to be better in many situations than units as AT Gold, GBP others at the same price (of course no one did a needle-test). But then I read, that Makro Gold Racer should be better for my needs for its higher freq (56...

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

A magnet won't detect a needle, and I would not trust it much. Besides, I really got into this MD thing, and hope to use the detector I buy also for fun.

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

I would, but the closest shop is 300km away, and when I called, they said, they have it all packed, and will not unpack it for me. That is why I have to ask owners to make me a favor, and make the needle test.

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

These are normal, regular sewing pins, like Goldpick showed. Pin-pointers don't see the, or if they do - the distance is about 1cm. Good PT are too expensive. I am reading about this Falcon MD20, but I saw some youtube tests, and it look weird, really weird, and not impressive when it comes to...

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

I have been told I must be certain the unit has a true all metal mode. AT Gold has it, and it states clearly in the specifications. T2, and G2 - supposedly have it too. So yes - what I need is an unusual device, that WILL NOT reject iron (which is the opposite to what most of you do).

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Goldpick, thank you for the test. Did you use a sewing needle or a medical one? 10-15cm would be fine. What worries me is that the unit comes with this 11" coil by default, and one must buy an extra coil to get better results. But since you used 11" and it worked, it seems I could stick with...

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Thank you, that is indeed one powerful machine! 300kHz is really a lot. I must admit, I have never heard of it until now, even though I was searching very thoroughly. I will start reading more about the unit, and look for some youtube tests right away.

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Thank you very much. That makes sense. I thought of high frequency unit, but somehow got distracted by some mid-freq detectors dedicated for gold. I hope your test will give good results.

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Why did you do that :-). But seriously, that are some detectors dedicated for gold hunting (like AT Gold) that operate on not that high frequencies, and are supposed to be very sensitive. Does that really make that much difference? If it does, I would go for one of those you mentioned...

T2 vs. G2 vs. AT Gold - for detecting tiny iron objects

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, and need some help, as most newbies do. My problem may seem strange, since most of you search for more valuable things than sewing needles. I need to buy a metal detector for my hobby as a tailor. Its main purpose is to detect sewing needles or pins in the...
