We bought the Gold Bug pro - it was a fake

Have fun with your new toy and generally the Gold Bug pro is a good detector - it would be good to know where you got it from. cheers Keith

Check out this fellas 4.9 ounce nugget on video

looking the depth of the find I think any $500 detector would have made a noise going over that.

    Koss UR30 headphones with X-terra 705

I use Koss headphones because they came with my detector. In my opinion you probably can't buy much worse for metal detecting. If you stand on them in the bush they will break, they are big and bulking and don't fit too well on the head and far too many moving parts. I reckon the people who...

Should AT Pro easily find a 1 gram gold ?

Hi moeee, I am not a Garrett expert and have not used on for many years but your AT Pro should pick up a .5 gram nugget and should have no issue with 1 gram. If you hit the ball shape nugget with a hammer you should pick it up better but the Gold Monster will always do better with the tiny gold.

    Steel Phase Amplifier

I have just bought a pouch for my SP01 from ebay that suits me (I prefer the belt loop rather than a clip). Its not perfect and requires DIY hole in the side for the input lead. Nice snug fit but may need a plastic bag or similar when it gets wet. They are available from ebay search for...

Minelab detector service and customer service

It is a bit sad when Minelab aren't capable of fixing a broken 4000. If they can't fix a 4000 what hope have the rest of us with out SDC, 4500, 5000 etc.. Jim try one of the modders as they should be able to help you out.

New to GPX4500 - my experience so far

Yes indeed - I spent a lot of time considering both these detectors and while the SDC was the favorite the GPX won in the end due to its versatility. I have to agree with Wishful - my bungee cord clip is getting cut off and replaced with something a bit easier to clip on and off. Cheers Keith

New to GPX4500 - my experience so far

Thanks guys for your input - after reading your comments I am thinking that the weight in general is not the main issue. The battery pack attached to your back is ok weight wise but I just don't like being attached to the machine. Thanks RitcherScale for your LiPo info - very interesting and I...

New to GPX4500 - my experience so far

Hi Guys, bought my GPX 4500 a few months ago and have been out and about 3 full days and while I respect the capability of this detector greatly, the ergonometrics does not exist. Gotta wonder at times what was Minelab thinking - or maybe its just me being pedantic. The huge battery and...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

I've have extended my prospecting tools with a newly purchased GPX 4500 and tested it out on Friday in the Castlemaine goldfields - found this nice 1.64g nugget with a mono coil - coil a bit noisy in this area but found this one nonetheless. :)

    Minelab GPX5000 vs GPX4500

I recently had the same issue - 4500 new or used 5000 interstate, nothing local. I decided the most important thing was my investment security so did not risk buying used interstate - got the 4500 new and after a 2 weeks still happy. cheers Keith

Gold has brought this Melbourne man back

Greetings people - I have been quietly around this forum for a few months. I was a detectorist and dredger back in the 1970s and 80s and wandered the areas between Walhalla - Jamieson and the golden triangle in Vic. The dredge and detectors are long gone but I have been wiping off the old gold...
