Interesting... I have tried to take a close shot of the crystals, and also of a small one that I sliced up yesterday.. The crystals are larger towards the center, but not by a significant amount.. They are quite messy to cut and leave a wet clay mess.. They are all different on the inside..

The stones were everywhere, in no particular piles that I could tell.. they had been graded up and pushed to the sides of the road, the road was also covered in them (buried and exposed) they were just everywhere and all this same shape.. the ones we got were from off the middle of the road...

Yes Please! :) I have had fun slicing some of my smaller stones in half.. I always look at stones, wondering whats inside.. Now I can find out!! :D

Hello Everyone, Thank you all for your input, I really appreciate it :) The shape of them is quite amazing really.. They seemed to have been dug up in road works, they were everywhere.. I am probably the only person that has driven along that road and got excited over them hahahaaaaa

Ahhhh yep you have have turned up my excitement level a few notches.. we are only limited by our own imaginations.. I really can not wait to get a saw.. Commission paintings might just have to wait a while hahahaaaa I also think I need studio renovations done to include a nice outdoors work...

I think I have lost the feeling of needing to open one now that it looks most likely to be Pyrite.. I would hate to open one and find something else :P As awesome as that would be, I would be back to square one with no rocks to paint hahaaa ... Maybe I should halve them into two piles.. :lol:

We tried both.. straight had us second guessing as it dulled it but didn't shift it.. diluted removed most of it.. although we were also second guessing that too, wondering if we had just hosed it away hahahaaaa We also tried to open one of the rocks with a pneumatic chisel... but it wouldn't...

A wet tile saw cutter, sounds more user friendly than the monster hubby was using.. I would have cut my head off If i had tried with that thing hahahaaa Thank you kindly :)
