Yes it is lead. That was what i have collected this year to date . But i was out the other day and got about 80 grams of lead in 1 day . Go figure. Unlike silver that lead ingot isnt worth 2 dollars, he is doing a lot better at cleaning up Australia and keeping his cash flow. keep it up everyone. :)

hotrob I dont ground balance too often . But if u do move off the target area before you do ground balance. Dont forget to scratch the top soil off with your boot over the target area .sometimes doing this can show a good target or if its ground noise.It takes time to get to know the detector...

Well i,m new to detecting , but have been fossicking for about 20 years . The only thing you should leave behind is your foot print.And i still try to keep to that.Some people make every one look bad .As what was said ,its looks like a ware zone.

Yesterday didn,t buy anything. But today i have to buy tyres. Way to go use all my buys at once. lol

I can handle both the ants . They bloody hurt. It does not stop me . I keep going .I,m just looking for that gold stuff. I haven,t been to VIC yet . I will have to get down there soon.

Very much so .So many ants where i go . a nest about every 20 meters . Bull ants and jumping jacks.ouch and some .But it does make the first fine sweeter.Just wish there was more fines . which state are you in .

Thank you both . I had no eye dear what GT meant . And a couple weeks ago i tripped over on the gold fields , but it was,t gold ,it was the big painfull red bull ant biting and stinging my leg. That was fun ,i had to rip its head off to stop it stinging. very tough ant lol.

New to both detecting and forum,s .I have had a sdc 2300 for a few months. Yes i have found gold. I have been fossicking for about 20 years on and off. Panning and high banking . But i do enjoy the detecting .
