    Blackwood-Trentham area

Yankee Gully Rd is really good for awd/2wd access, just don't take any side tracks.... You're better off parking (if you can find a spot) and walking. Just be very cautious of snakes, it's a pretty steep and overgrown area. Also very slippery after rain.

    frustrated sdc swinger

Thanks for the tips! I was thinking of trying a few zip ties before buying a new lead, but it sounds like a spare wouldn't go astray anyway! I noticed on Monday that when I adjust all the velcro straps on the cover and tighten them that I have alot less of an issue. I have the curly cord, but it...

Oh dear.... Sounds like you have had better days! I have been having a similar issue with my B & Z booster, where the lead connects to the sdc head phone port it doesn't appear to be a tight connection - I have to fiddle with it at least 5 times a day because the sound just drops out, I am sure...

There are quite a few tracks leading down to Nuggety gully, some get a little tight, but if you know your car you will get thru, however we found the gully itself seriously overgrown, to the point where no bare ground could be seen at all. We have never bothered swinging the detectors there...

    SDC2300 ISSUE

I haven't had any issues with mine... *touch wood* I put a small pack of wet wipes in my detector bag and give the sdc a quick wipe down at the end of each day. I have heard of the dusty dirt causing retraction issues if not cleaned regularly. Good luck, hope you get it fixed soon.

    Angie - Another Victorian Newbie

Apologies for the late reply guys. My brain seems to have some confusion with the "Submit" button being on the left and the "post reply" button on the right... I have now typed a reply to this message 5 times... Hopefully this time it makes it to the thread and I don't have to swear at myself...

Ps. I had been there 3 times before... I just thought it might be wise to give the mountain goat in me a rest and try some different areas. I do intend on going back there down the track.

Howdy Big Nugget, lucky for me I have been in vic for just over 4 years now, so I have missed out on most of the wild weather events in qld. I think there is a delusional part of me that will be in for a huge shock when I move back!! Lol. Zuke_Lynzy - Sounds great. Thankyou very much for the...

Thanks guys!! Lol Aurum - Yes it did go something like that!! It was in a tricky little spot too. It was late in the day, so I headed to the local pub for a coldie - Bourbon for me. I will be heading North back to my home of Queensland later this year, looking forward to spending time...

    Today an epiphany ......

That's exactly why I wanted a simple detector :) I am having a great time exploring, it's absolutely amazing to see what the old timers did by hand. Makes me feel lucky, we really don't know what hard work is these days!! I haven't dug many treasures yet.... Hand forged nails were interesting to...

    Angie - Another Victorian Newbie

Hi, My name is Angie and I am a newbie. I purchased an SDC2300 just before Christmas, unfortunately I have only had the chance to go out digging 5 times so far. However I have already found a little flakey nugget, weighing less that 0.01g... It was still exciting none the less. That would be...

    Today an epiphany ......

Hi there Lisa, I'm a newbie too. Also from Brisbane but moved to Victoria for family reasons a few years ago and decided to give the dirt a bit of a turn over before I return to QLD later this year. Originally I thought I would be happy to take photos, dig targets for my partner and pan - but...
