    Chewton-Fryerstown

I was walking in the creek last week. There were a number of cup sized rock pools, but no sign of any flow, nor even way up in Browns Gully. BYO water. Cheers Len :o

    Aussie Detecting & Prospecting Bendigo

I have just read the report from the bankruptcy administrators. My name, and the amount that Brad filched from me were listed, as well as the comment that the bankruptcy estate was unlikely to find sufficient to pay the administrators, never mind unsecured creditors (me & you). I suspect that...

    Aussie Detecting & Prospecting Bendigo

Having read the posts regarding Brad, I can only lament that I didn't look before falling into his clutches. The store was in a convenient location on my journey to visit relatives in Bendigo so I called in a few times to stock up. Brad was quite pleasant to deal with as long as he didn't have...

    Eldorado Gold Concentrates

Hi, Tom. I finally got a few minutes to crack open one of the bags you sent. A nasty surprise inside! The creeks I have been digging here in the GT do not have any of that NASTY black sand in them, or at worst, only a small trace, the gold is much coarser, so is relatively easy to pick out...

Hog Pan- Does this thing really work?

Got mine a few months ago. it has been extensively worked every opportunity i get to escape. It is easy to overload it and have to work too hard. But it is great as a clay buster. Only failed once when i was in pure clay; i needed to break it up with my delicate fingers. Otherwise, i am very...

    HOG MAT

For the best advice on cleaning up the Gold Hog mats, just have a look at some of their many videos. The easiest way is to roll them inside out - pattern to the outside, then dip into a bucket of water. Everything just falls off. cheers

Castlemaine Victoria area information and questions

Aftenoon guys. Had a bit of a hit out at/near waterwheel a few months ago. Nothing exciting there. Even in midwinter this area is vary dry. No yellow, but lots of historical interest. About 5km's NE of there are some quite deep, narrow trenches - up to 30m deep. 10m wide & 1k long. 4wd track to...

    Wals' Hi-banker Specifications

Thanks Wal & Rasta. I am about to take your drawings down to my local welder to see what his quote will be. I suspect a part of the price will be to take him on a few expeditions as he is a former fossicker himself.

Ballarat Area Victoria information and questions

Hope you had fun. I took my son to Sovereign Hill many years ago. He wouldn't leave the gold panning area. Luke is now a 36yo Geological Engineer and is Operations Superintendent of one of two operating gold mines in Victoria. Needless to say, I am quite proud of my efforts of 20 years ago. If...

Boots for Prospecting, Hiking, Detecting information and questions

Mongrel elastic side boots w/o the metal cap are fantastic. The only pair of boots that are so comfy that I don't need to wear prosthetics. Worth their weight in gold. but paid bout $95 after searching ebay. Most Aus snakes have tiny fangs - cannot even penetrate jeans. if that's your worry...
