Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

I agree and from what I've also seen on in situ targets with the 5000 in FP settings with Commander 11" mono.

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

Based on actual use with my 5000 to my friends 6000 as the 5000 allows additional setting adjustments, however in Factory settings the 6000 has the edge until nuggets up in the 2 and 3 figure gram range when the additional setting adjustments outside of FP on the 5000 come in to play.

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

Reg you will find the 6000 is dynamite on nuggets less than a gram and way more sensitive than the current version of the QED on similar size sub-gram nuggets and the majority of 6000 nugget finds are small but at good depth, although on larger nuggets the 5000 pulls away with similar size coil.

    QED PL3 package deal

Okay Ill bite if Reg does not mind me replying in his thread. An example of recent testing against an SDC with an 8 mono on the QED using tiny 0.05 & 0.08-gram nuggets both detectors produced equal results for outright sensitivity. Another example with the 8 mono on both a 5000 in FG and QED...

    QED PL3 package deal

As far as I am concerned then let people purchase the QED and find it out for themselves.

    QED PL3 package deal

A small coil on the QED for small gold is where the QED excels the most and is as good as an SDC on small gold.

    11"CC Vs 11"DD

These tests https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UB29wo_-FGQ were done a couple of weeks back. Detector settings are displayed but NO mention of what position the CC coil switch was set too? Also when using the Mono setting on the detector the 11" DD would be equivalent to an 8" mono and the 11" CC...

Nexus 30" and 21" Concentric Coils For Minelab GPX

Maths was never my best subject as I thought I had figured out how you came to your %s then did the same for my results.

Nexus 30" and 21" Concentric Coils For Minelab GPX

Candigger below I have added further info to your results above. GPX 4500(All settings are FP, Deep, Fixed GB and in Normal timing) with Nexus 21" CC coil . Air Depth Test Results Max. Depth/Mono - 330ml can at 145 cm Hot Ground/ Mono - 330 ml can at 140 cm, - 3.45% less Hot Ground/ Cancel...

Nexus 30" and 21" Concentric Coils For Minelab GPX

Candigger what Mono (round) coil size do you think your 21" CC coil would be equivalent too when set in Hot Ground Mode with the GPX switched in DD or Cancel..... or even Mono if Mono is capable to handle hot ground with the coil in the HOT Ground Mode setting?

Nexus 30" and 21" Concentric Coils For Minelab GPX

After reading Hermann's results in the Detech CC coil discussion in regards to the Nexus 21" CC coil I thought I should ask my questions here since this is related to the Nexus 21"CC coil. As Hermann mentioned for his test with the 21" CC coil on his 5000, when it was set in Normal (timing)...

    Coil Housing Colour?

Thanks so colour has no effect. Another question is in regards to coil housing construction material such as plastics that could allow static electricity to build up under certain weather conditions and be discharged when brushing the coil against long grass, bushes & etc creating an...

New Detech 80cm Concentric Coil for PI detectors

That would have to be the ultimate air test procedure.

    Coil Housing Colour?

I have a question in regards to the colour used for the coil housing. Therefore is a light colour better than a darker colour for a Pulse Induction coil ? So does white reflect heat better and black attract less ultra violet? And does either effect the performance of the coil?

New Detech 80cm Concentric Coil for PI detectors

I would say he just forgot to check that particular 5.5oz target which I have read is only buried at an extra 2" depth(22") to the 2oz at 20" as that 18" concentric appeared to have no problems responding to the other targets.

    GPX5000 Setting Variations Between Coils?

I agree that a larger coil is more prone to EMI however I feel that a larger coil is less prone to ground noise than a smaller coil.

    QED Info Thread.

Wow my reply sure has created some discussions on AEGF and I must say there is merit in what has been said there in regards to test beds. Therefore I should clarify my "nothing" comment as I was referring to using LEAD as test targets. In hindsight not sure now if mbasko was referring the same?

    QED Info Thread.

I agree with mbasko as he says these type of test bed results mean SFA.(nothing)

    QED Information

It is interesting that the 25 coil was able to handle that particular ground with a GB reading up at 127 especially having the Bias down at 47, Gain up at 4 and operating at the fast sample delay in Mode 2. I find the larger the coil the less it can be effected by ground mineralsation so maybe a...
