Staying in Gawler at a mates and was bored today. I decided to have a little play in the Gawler river with my small Angus sluice and a pan. Was surprised to of found 3 small specks after bout an hr of digging. Wont get rich there but there is flood gold present.

Just want to know how many of us South Aussie water prospectors are out there that actually try their luck in our state?

Bought a cheap vlf detector from ebay and gave it a swing round the house. This is what I found.

Ive been to the SA mines site with regards to the regulations on 'recreational fossicking' with a highbanker and pump of either electric or petrol power. Like all our regulations its a very gray area. Is it legal to use a highbanker with any pump? Any thoughts or knowledge would be appreciated.
