Hi Nick, good choice for a first detector. I started the same way, IMOP the 11"DD is the way to go,good depth, and not as noisy as a mono. And remember the old saying, low and slow, That one thing will definitely increase your Gold finds. Regards Mal.

Thanks Wall and all others, I finally finished my river sluice, I never realised how much I would miss having our factory with all the gear to do projects like this after I retired. Not only no factory ,but no man shed either. very difficult when permanently travelling around in a caravan...

I got one from Bcf and one of the Bunnings ones, only difference I can see is Bunnings one has two little lugs on top lip. They both fit nicely into a $5
