Hi everyone, what a fabulous day to be out fossicking. I've just arrived back from a day on the Winburndale Rivulet at Sunny Corner State Forest. I'd like to get your perspective and opinion. I'll qualify all this with the fact i'm a complete newbie, so i'm probably doing something tragically...

I gotta say I'm pretty impressed with Gold Rat Engineering at Clontarf. I ordered the Adventure Sluice, with the inbuilt Dream Mat, along with an 8 mesh classifier, and spare snuffer bottle. And it all turned up in quick time just now - and with a few Mentos surprises too. Nice work GRE. I know...

Yeah I saw that post/video. Really ingenious using Hebel. Well done. Years ago I used to work for CSR, so visited the Hebel plant at Somersby all the time.

Before Google Maps we had to buy aerial photos from the NSW Lands Department. Here's one of Yalwal from 1989 that i bought from them for hiking I was doing in the area at the time.

That’s brilliant work. I saw a post on here of a YouTube clip of melting with twin butane in a block of Hebel. Can’t remember who posted it, but it was an elegant solution.

Ok, here's where i'm confused about highbankers. The various state rules (mostly) allow them if not used with powered water pumps. You have to manually feed the water to them somehow - which means lots of carrying water buckets. Clearly not optimal. But many Aussie "gold fossicking" YouTube...

Looks like Minview & NSW State Forest ArcGis are now showing Sunny Corner State Forest as being reopened to fossicking. Could some validate my observation please - just want to make sure i'm reading it right.

The reason I asked was that i found a post by him (23/11/2023) saying that he's "using a mate's oxy to make bars to sell to the mint", hence the question. Maybe i've misunderstood then?

Hi Stingray, and Happy New Year. So you melt down into buttons and ship off the PMR? How much do you usually ship at a time? How big are the buttons? What's the usual turn-around from shipment to $$ in account? Is there anything special about your steps to ship - or is it just melt & ship?
