Completely cover it in neat molasses (Woolworths) and let it soak for a month or so, you may be able to get it working. Do I need to dilate the molasses?

HI All. First time posting. We found this padlock. It was quite deep in the ground. Looks like iron and brass. Possibly handmade, as there's no inscription. Any ideas on identification and value etc? Thanks in advance. Kerry
